Magazine Subscriptions
Sky and Telescope is the more flexible of the deals. Their
regular rate is $42.95 per year but the club rate is $32.95.
Unfortunately, you have to renew each year (no multi-year club
subscriptions). The good news is that you can sign up or renew at
any time. Just submit a check made out to “Sky Publishing
Corporation” along with your contact information or renewal
notice to the Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer. They will send in
the requests in every month or so. In addition, Sky Publishing
occasionally offers discounts from their shop on skyandtelescope.com to
club subscribers.
Astronomy allows us to send in our subscriptions only once per
year. We collect the checks and contact info or renewals in
November and send them in before the end of the month so new
subscriptions can begin in January. If you are a current
subscriber they will add the new subscription on to your existing
one. The club rate is $29.00/ year. Make the check out to
“Kalmbach Publishing Co.” The two year rate is $55.00.

The Club TelescopeIf you'd like to borrow the f/4.5 13" Dobosnian Telescope you must be a
member of the Association. Also, be aware that
this scope is fairly heavy, and comes in 2 pieces. The Scope was constructed by Gordon Waite. When Gordon died, his estate was kind enough to give the scope to us. Recently, the scope was upgraded. It now has a re-ground mirror, a smaller flat mirror, and is a little lighter. Since the overhaul, the scope has been performing much better than before! Thanks to everyone who donated money and time towards its refurbishment! Back to Top |
